Wilber Penno, Dave Lee, Gene Havelka, and Bill Gibb circa 1970

How it all began…

Selling wooden crates, pallets and nails was all it took for Frank Rice’s interest in Material Handling to be sparked. Before long he had expanded his knowledge and products to launch Rice Equipment in 1953.

Rice Equipment began as a local family owned business with Frank, Evelyn and their son Steve. Bill Gibb began in sales, then in 1970 he became a partner and total owner in 1980 upon Frank’s retirement. Maintaining the heritage of a family business Bill and his wife, Pat, along with their daughters, Dawn and Dana, and son-in-laws, Tom and Brian have made the focus of Rice on Customer Service.

Rice Equipment is proud of the team of caring employees that contribute their energy and expertise in the material handling field providing service to our most valuable asset, our customers.
